My First Lightning Capture – Photo Of The Day

“My First Lightning Shot” So like many of us, besides working, it can be terribly mundane with the madness of staying home for this long. I received an alert that a major storm with gusts of up to 70 mph winds were headed in my direction. Did a quick google search for tips capturing such phenomena. Hopefully, next time will be better but I shot 720p video at 120 frames per second. Most of the lightning storm was in the clouds but it did capture this fantastic bolt. It was not raining by me and I kept my drone at a lower altitude and it had no problems with the wind from this distance. After 20 minutes I landed and 10 minutes later the storm hit our home full force with an amazing thunderstorm, hail, rain, and high winds. Glad I landed when I did. Anyways, it’s always fun to pass the time learning new things and techniques. Stay safe everyone!! 🐼✌️⚡️#firsttime #lightningbolt #dronephotography #dronehour #dronecapture #droneoftheday #dronepilot #dronepals #naturelovers #naturephotography #lightningstrike #rightplacerighttime #lucky #stayathome #learningeveryday #contentcreator #blogger #artistsoninstagram #michigander #mymavicpro

“Frosted Tips” – Photo Of The Day

I apologize for not visiting my favorites blogs and posting much this month. I've been super busy at my real job and battling a bad cold 🥶. Probably from taking too many pictures like this 😂.
Hope to visit you all soon and have a blessed week !

Creepy Cryptic Cemetery – Video/Photo Of The Day

Video and photo shoot from a local cemetery.

As a child, my brother and I were fascinated by this graveyard. It was built in the 1800s and is a Catholic Jesuit Cemetery. A few of the graves carry the remains of Civil War soldiers. The crypt is located on a hill and houses a famous Jesuit priest buried beneath the floor.

I was fascinated when I flew over the crypt and saw the unusual letters "AMDG".

One of my smart historical colleagues let me know that the markings represented a famous Latin Jesuit Saying:
Ad Majored Dei Gloria: "For the Greater Glory of God"

May everyone rest in piece 🐼

“Creepy Cemetery” – Video Of The Day

Wanted to try and create a something darker this month since Halloween will be here before we know it. I have to admit old cemeteries are quite fascinating to me. Walking the grounds springs forth a multitude of a variety feelings. Of course sadness is the most common, but also happiness.

Here is a stream of consciousness from my experience:

Dark, peace, rest, lovers, friends, warriors, sleeping, loss, grieving, empty, lingering, lost, pain, anger, sadness, good memories, moments in time, flickering, dust, earth, wind, memorial, rise, fall, leaves, rebirth.

Enjoy everyone 🐼

“Higgins High” – Photo Of The Day

Really enjoyed my last adventure in Northern Michigan. This is one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen in awhile. Higgins Lake is located in Roscommon, Michigan. It is one of my most favorite places to visit. The people are so very friendly, polite, and will talk to complete strangers like friends. Sometimes it is difficult for me to engage in these conversations initially as this just doesn't happen in the city. When I do force myself to suppress my city instincts in an effort to make small talk with the locals, I am always glad that I did.
Sometimes the most simple conversations are the most rewarding. It reminds me what it means to be human being. That we are all connected in this crazy amazing world. With the leaps we make in technology, it might be good for us to remember to make an effort to skip that ATM machine, put down that tablet, phone, and go outside of our comfort zones to engage others in conversation like my Northern friends do. It just make someone else's day a bit brighter. Everyone have a great week. ✌️🐼❤️
