Really enjoyed my last adventure in Northern Michigan. This is one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen in awhile. Higgins Lake is located in Roscommon, Michigan. It is one of my most favorite places to visit. The people are so very friendly, polite, and will talk to complete strangers like friends. Sometimes it is difficult for me to engage in these conversations initially as this just doesn't happen in the city. When I do force myself to suppress my city instincts in an effort to make small talk with the locals, I am always glad that I did.
Sometimes the most simple conversations are the most rewarding. It reminds me what it means to be human being. That we are all connected in this crazy amazing world. With the leaps we make in technology, it might be good for us to remember to make an effort to skip that ATM machine, put down that tablet, phone, and go outside of our comfort zones to engage others in conversation like my Northern friends do.
