“Duality” – Photo Of The Day

The Duality of Life and Death. ...

Duality teaches us that every aspect of life is created from a balanced interaction of opposite and competing forces. Yet these forces are not just opposites; they are complementary. They do not cancel out each other, they merely balance each other like the dual wings of a bird.

I struggle to maintain a balanced lifestyle like I am sure most of us do. Everyone walks their own path in life and in doing so I recommend if you haven't already found it to seek out your own ways to maintain a balanced lifestyle.
The closer I get to my own personal balance the more satisfied and happier I feel. It is a constant balancing act.
Family, Blogging, getting out in nature, droning, photo editing, creating, are ways I help balance my stressful day job as a social worker.

Please share in the comments some of your own ways you help maintain your balance.

Creepy Cryptic Cemetery – Video/Photo Of The Day

Video and photo shoot from a local cemetery.

As a child, my brother and I were fascinated by this graveyard. It was built in the 1800s and is a Catholic Jesuit Cemetery. A few of the graves carry the remains of Civil War soldiers. The crypt is located on a hill and houses a famous Jesuit priest buried beneath the floor.

I was fascinated when I flew over the crypt and saw the unusual letters "AMDG".

One of my smart historical colleagues let me know that the markings represented a famous Latin Jesuit Saying:
Ad Majored Dei Gloria: "For the Greater Glory of God"

May everyone rest in piece 🐼

Street Photo Of The Day

I love nature, but I thought I would change things up a bit and showcase some urban street photos I have taken. My daytime job gives me the opportunity to travel frequently downtown. I have seen a lot of positive changes in Detroit over the last 10 years. I truly believe it is making a slow comeback. The city is filled with many architectural treasures I have only started to learn about. Let me know if you would like more urban shots in the comments.

“Absence ” – Photo of the day

"Darkness is the absence of light".

I know most people love colors and so do I, but I have been loving exploring various black and white shots lately.

It is bringing out the minimalist in me.

Have a great week everyone!!!

Thayer Creek – 360 Panoramic Art

360 Panoramic Art Of The Day

Loved my last adventure here in Crawford County, Michigan. It was a joy to have so much open space, fresh air, and no one around for miles. Hope to get back sometime in spring as there are so many hidden places to explore here.

555 Sunflowers 🌻 – DroneArt

Fall Inspired Tribute Celebrating my 555 post on Instagram 🌻😊🌻
Ford Motor Company does an excellent job investing in the city that has been its home since it originated. Located in a Dearborn, Michigan near the Ford Motor Company World Headquarters is a lovely field of hundreds of mature sunflowers. I wanted to snap a few pictures earlier last month, but couldn't find the time to do so. Even though most have started to return to the earth, I loved the mature sunflowers colors and fall vibes even more.

Happy Trails Everyone 🐼🌻

“Creepy Cemetery” – Video Of The Day

Wanted to try and create a something darker this month since Halloween will be here before we know it. I have to admit old cemeteries are quite fascinating to me. Walking the grounds springs forth a multitude of a variety feelings. Of course sadness is the most common, but also happiness.

Here is a stream of consciousness from my experience:

Dark, peace, rest, lovers, friends, warriors, sleeping, loss, grieving, empty, lingering, lost, pain, anger, sadness, good memories, moments in time, flickering, dust, earth, wind, memorial, rise, fall, leaves, rebirth.

Enjoy everyone 🐼

There is no need to rush toward the end; the true value of anything is in the journey! ✌️🐼

“Higgins High” – Photo Of The Day

Really enjoyed my last adventure in Northern Michigan. This is one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen in awhile. Higgins Lake is located in Roscommon, Michigan. It is one of my most favorite places to visit. The people are so very friendly, polite, and will talk to complete strangers like friends. Sometimes it is difficult for me to engage in these conversations initially as this just doesn't happen in the city. When I do force myself to suppress my city instincts in an effort to make small talk with the locals, I am always glad that I did.
Sometimes the most simple conversations are the most rewarding. It reminds me what it means to be human being. That we are all connected in this crazy amazing world. With the leaps we make in technology, it might be good for us to remember to make an effort to skip that ATM machine, put down that tablet, phone, and go outside of our comfort zones to engage others in conversation like my Northern friends do. It just make someone else's day a bit brighter. Everyone have a great week. ✌️🐼❤️

“Montage” Northern Michigan Flight

Just got back from an awesome adventure mucking it up in Northern Michigan. Took my dual sport enduro bike out and hit the rough trails to find some awesome remote locations. The deeper I got in nature, the more free I felt. I can't wait to go back and explore some more. Here is a video of one of the remote locations I discovered. Enjoy 😉.

“ You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! “ - Rocky Balboa (Film)

The brain can process roughly a maximum of 110 pieces of information per second. But what if we could play that information in our minds in slow motion? Studies performed by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, have helped us gain the first insights into this phenomena.
