Beauty Challenge

For many of us, it is so easy to get caught up in our daily lives and routines, that we either don’t see or don’t take the time to realize the beauty that surrounds us.  Here in Michigan, we have what seems to have been a very short summer.  I am already seeing the signs of the approaching fall.  The weather has been mostly dreary and overcast as of late.

Today was different and the sun was out in all of it’s magnificent glory.  I knew that I had to make my best attempt at my office job to find at least 5 minutes to get outside and feel the warm rays and get some fresh air in my lungs.

Our office has been short staffed due to budget cuts, so we are all pitching in more than ever.  But today it didn’t matter and I was determined to get at least five minutes.

Sure enough I found my window of opportunity late in the afternoon and I took a little stroll around my office building.  It was so refreshing to be outside and feel the warmth of the sun and see the wonderful light it was shining on all of the trees, buildings, and flowers.

I took a moment to reflect on the beauty that was all around and it brought me some peace for the day and helped reduce my stress levels.

Here is a picture of one of the flowers that grabbed my attention.

This photo is filter free by the way shot with my work phone :).  I realize there are better photos out there but for me this photo is a great reminder for us all to seek out something beautiful every day.  It only has to take five minutes and may bring you the same joy it brought me.

I challenge everyone to do the same.  Sometimes, depending on where you are, you have to look harder, but it is out there.

Please comment or share something beautiful that happened in your day.
